Abstract
The lack of information on the extent of the concept–scale interaction effect in semantic differentials is pointed out. Some evidence is presented to show the extent of this effect within one concept class and its implications for factor‐scoring procedures are discussed. A scoring method is suggested which overcomes the difficulties inherent in the factor‐scoring methods generally used.
