Abstract
The rupture problem in a disordered system is investigated through numerical simulations and experiments in a discrete fusewire network. Statistical results on the current distribution and the maximum current as a function of the density of defects in the network are compared with theoretical interpretations. Specific defect interactions (enhancement and screening effects) are emphasized. We discuss the analogies for the rupture problem between resistor networks and mechanical systemsKeywords
