Siphonaptera: A List of Alaskan Fleas

Abstract

New and published records of Siphonaptera from Alaska of the Nearctic region include 17 spp. representing 11 genera. This parasite fauna is closely related to that of northeastern Asia of the Palearctic region as 9 genera and 5 spp. are common to both areas. Ten of the genera extend southward into the U. S. Ceratophyllus vagabunda is recorded for the first time for the Nearctic region.
