Epidemic and Endemic Typhus: Protective Value for Guinea Pigs of Vaccines Prepared from Infected Tissues of the Developing Chick Embryo

Abstract
Vaccines which protect guinea-pigs against European (epidemic) and endemic typhus can be readily prepd. in large quantities from infected tissues of developing chick embryos. Vaccines of 6 European strains and 1 endemic typhus strain conferred protection against the exptl. disease. Such vaccines would probably be practical from the standpoints of cost and quantity production.
