Abstract
The concept of accident proneness has been a basis for subsequent refinement. Recent study has shown that at certain times in their lives many people become accident prone. At such moments, people enter a conflict situation, become depressed and frustrated. An injury or illness becomes a possible answer to their problems. The accident occurs or the illness supervenes, and when it is com-pensable, the patient tries very hard to resist the physician''s attempt to cure. Only physicians who are well trained in somatic medicine and who also understand these psychic processes can treat them satisfactorily. Beyond this is a vast area, as yet unexplored, where these theories may lead to prevention of accidents. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
