Abstract
Charles Moore (1815 - 1881) was a very accomplished amateur palaeontologist enjoying considerable respect from many of his historically more auspicious contemporaries, characters now regarded as more significant in the development of geology. Moore lived in Bath for the greater part of his geologically productive life, and at his death, the City purchased his vast collection by appeal fund. Keywords
