Abstract
Of 7 patients with penetrating wounds of the profunda femoris artery or its branches, 4 had transections, 2 had arteriovenous fistulae and 1 had a laceration. Six were treated immediately by transcatheter occlusive methods with no complications. Selective catheterization was unsuccessful in the 7th patient. In the 5 patients with adequate follow-up, proximal and distal large vessel occlusion was effective in preventing recurrent hemorrhage in 4 and persistent fistulae in 1.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
