Abstract
B-chromosomes are reported in 5 spp. of Crotalaria, namely C. brownei, C. juncea, C. medicaginea, C. retusa and C. sericea. While B-chromosomes were found in root tip cells of all the 5 spp., these were found in pollen mother cells only in 2 of these 5 spp., i.e., C. brownei and C. retusa. [The term B-chromosome (accessory chromosome, supernumerary chromosome) is used for those chromosomes that occur in varying numbers over and above the normal A chromosomes of an individual. Chiasma formation and genetic recombination are influenced by B-chromosomes.].This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
