Abstract
It is shown that present data on photoproduction support the vector-dominance assumption for the hadron electromagnetic current, in direct tests which require almost no additional symmetry- or model-dependent assumptions. Agreement with predictions is obtained for both the angular distribution and the magnitude of the photoproduction cross section, over a wide energy range. New model-independent experimental tests of vector dominance in photoproduction are proposed. Keywords
