Pulse-width dependence of the transmission of ultrashort optical pulses in germanium

Abstract
The nonlinear transmission of ultrashort optical pulses () through a thin germanium sample has been measured as a function of pulse width. In contrast to the predictions of a recently proposed theoretical model and within the available resolution of this experiment, no pulse-width dependence is observed.
