Abstract
If we ever develop a theory of management information systems, we should be able to dispel the semantic pollution so rampant in this field. In earlier columns [Vazsonyi, Andrew. 1973. Semantic pollution in information systems. Interfaces 3 (4, August); How to do away with semantic pollution in information systems. Interfaces 4 (1, November).], I touched on problems of semantics, and now, I discuss specifically what we need to do to clarify some of the confusion about MIS. So let me pose the question: What is the meaning of information? This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
