Abstract
The deactivation rate constants of PH(b 1Σ+, v = 0) by rare gases are reported. A correlation of these constants with molecular parameters has been attempted through a semiclassical treatment by long range interaction of the collision induced transition between two discrete vibrational levels of two distinct electronic states. A correlation according to Parmenter’s theory has also been considered. Keywords
