A Note on Temperature and Humidity Profile Measurement over Forests Using Diodes

Abstract
An instrument package developed for measuring six-level, dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperature profiles above forests is described. Germanium diodes, incorporated into a constant current circuit, were used as temperature sensors. The resolution achieved was ±0.01°C. The array was mounted so that it could be oriented through 360°. This feature greatly facilitated routine maintenance operations and allowed the sensors to be oriented into the wind during measurement periods.
