Abstract
A mathematical model for the mechanism of calcium fluoride formation on hydroxyapatite in buffered fluoride solutions is proposed. It takes into account the physical and chemical processes that occur during the reaction. With the model it is possible to evaluate a priori the fluoride uptake potential of fluoride solutions. Keywords
