Abstract
This paper considers the relations between the colorimetric quantities of the system and the electrical signals into which they are encoded for transmission. The type of system considered specifically is that in which the complete video signal comprises a monochrome component together with a color carrier, which collaborate to transmit all of the information necessary for a subjective reproduction of a colored scene. However, the colorimetric equations derived in the paper are quite general, and would apply to any system of color reproduction. Keywords
