Abstract
We examined variation in mortality and mean time to death for four British Columbia populations of pink salmon Oncorhynchus gorbuscha, subgroups of which were challenged with Vibrio anguillarum, V. ordalii, or Aeromonas salmonicida. Two hundred fish in each population were challenged with one of the three pathogens. Mortality in the four populations ranged from 84 to 91% after challenge with V. anguillarum, from 13 to 26% after challenge with V. ordalii, and from 51 to 63% after challenge with A. salmonicida. A significant difference in mortality among populations was observed only in the V. ordalii challenge. No significant differences in time to death were observed. Keywords
