Abstract
The saturation curves of the nuclear matter are calculated by using the reference spectrum method (RSM) for five types of nuclear forces: the Gammel-Thaler potential, the Hamada-Johnston potential, two kinds of potentials derived by Tamagaki and Watari which have very small core radii, and a potential having a negative l-s force. Calculations are performed up to the D wave. The corrections to the RSM are also evaluated. The results show that it is almost impossible to get satisfactory properties of the nuclear matter with the Hamada-Johnston type potentials (including the modified Hamada-Johnston potentials). Keywords
