Abstract
We present a survey of recent works concerning the phase-shift analysis of scattering in the energy region from 400 MeV to a few GeV. The method of analysis and results are described. Physical implications of them are also discussed. A new scheme of analysis is proposed. It modifies the previous method in fixing the imaginary phase shifts to the values from the one-pion model with unitarity. Reanalysis of the data at 970 MeV shows the validity of the new scheme.
