Abstract
A high speed variable capacitor operating in a vacuum is described. The capacitor is coupled to the cyclotron dee by means of a transmission line whose length is such that a voltage node occurs near its center. The frequency change obtained is greater than 13 percent. The frequency-time characteristic of the system is considered and a method of adjusting the shape of the characteristic is described. Keywords
