Minimum drift velocity for instability in current-carrying, non-Maxwellian plasmas

Abstract
The drift velocity which separates stability from instability in current‐carrying plasmas is sensitive to the specific shape of the distribution function. This result is used to interpret some features of low pressure discharge experiments.Keywords
