Abstract
A parameter estimation problem for class of linear hereditary systems is recast in a state space setting. A quasi-linearization type algorithm is developed, based on the state space formulation. The resulting algorithm requires the solution of initial value problems for hereditary systems. A numerical example is given to illustrate the technique. Keywords
