Abstract
A new model for the elevation spectrum of wind-generated ocean waves has been developed. The proposed model is a modification of the Pierson model spectrum. An error in the Pierson model has been corrected, the lower bound of the Mitsuyasu-Honda spectral range has been increased, and the Leykin-Rosenberg spectral range has been eliminated. The result of these modifications is a simpler model that still compares favorably with existing data. Keywords
