Abstract
A new colorimetric test was developed by using dl-alanine and H2O2 as reagents for the detection of ascorbic acid. The color developed with de-hydroascorbic acid in a manner apparently similar to the ninhydrine or murexide test. The test is not applicable to animal materials, but may be used to test the identity of ascorbic acid in official U.S.P. prepns. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
