Abstract
A Hirnantia fauna is recorded for the first time from Anticosti Island, situated 6 m below the beds interpreted as representing the maximum regression at the eastern end of the island, the latter coinciding with the local top of the revised Ellis Bay Formation. The Ordovician-Silurian boundary on the island is discussed. [The following taxa were collected: Brachiopoda, Philhedrella sp., Dalmanella testudinaria (Dalman, 1828), Hirnantia sp., Fardenia aff. dalmani (Bergstrom, 1968), Eostropheodonta sp., Hindella? sp. and ?porambonitid; Bryozoa, Ptilodictya ensiformis (Hall, 1852) and indet. trepostome species; Bellerophonta, Cyrtolites? sp.; Trilobita, Cheirurus? sp. and harpid gen. indet.].This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
