Chronic Herpes Simplex Infection of the Ocular Adnexa

Abstract
Herpes simplex virus was recovered from the ocular secretions of eight of 22 rabbit eyes bearing chronic herpetic infections. The elaboration of the infective particles is shown to occur despite the absence of the globe. The virus recovered was from extraocular tissue and secretions, and not from reactivation of virus latent in corneal tissue.
