Abstract
Some simple studies are made of the characteristics of elastic buckling of overbraced frames, loaded at the joints. A frame of this type may be prestressed before the application of external loads, due to initial lack of fit of members of the frame, and this is taken into account in the analysis. Experiments on simple over-braced frames confirm the theoretical conclusions. Keywords
