Abstract
Group practice is defined as cooperating physicians having mutual responsibilities. The groups discussed are those organized as voluntary, nonprofit groups. These groups become the community focus for the planning center of regionalized health facilities. This is preferable to delegating these responsibilities to the hospital. The ultimate facility is a community health center nearby, administratively free from the hospital, where public and voluntary agencies can be brought together under one roof. This creates an ideal organization in which public health should play the dominant role and assume responsibility for coordination, administration, and quality control. Keywords
