Abstract
Notophyllura gen. n. and Syntomoza lebezia sp. n. are described from Brazil and Belize respectively. The 3 known species of Notophyllura, N. cataphracta sp. n. (the type), N. conjuncta sp. n. and N. marginata sp. n. are highly characteristic, having the occiput, pronotum and mesopleura developed into plate-like outgrowths and the dorsal sclerites of the thorax together shaped like a backward directed spine. Syntomoza lebezia, which is only provisionally assigned to the genus, is characterised by the posteriorly lobed male proctiger. The position of these taxa is discussed and the status of the tribe Euphyllurini examined.
