The Role of Radiation Therapy in the Management of Hemangiomas of the Liver

Abstract
Five cases of nonresectable hemangioma of the liver were treated with radiation therapy. Four of the five patients had good results with both control of disease and preservation of normal liver function. We suggest that radiation therapy provides an effective method of managing nonresectable hemangiomas of the liver or those resectable hemangiomas where there is an appreciable operative risk.
