Abstract
An exact analytical method is derived for the calculation of the direct Coulomb interaction matrix elements between two hydrogen atoms in their ground states. Explicit interaction potentials for the process H(1s) + H(1s) -> H(nl) + H(primenprimel) are presented. The long-range interaction arising from double transitions is also discussed. Keywords
