Abstract
The blood platelet count decreased in 7-57 hrs. after injury in 12 of 13 patients with treated 3d-degree thermal burns. The lowest counts were found within 23-96 hrs. after injury, and 6 of these patients died within 96 hrs. The platelets returned to normal level in 4-9 days in the other 6 but only 1 patient survived. Two patients had purpura. All had hemoglobinemia. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
