Abstract
A series of auroral spectra showing the 0–0 N2+ band have been obtained at Churchill, Manitoba. Rotational temperatures ranging from 230° K. to 480° K. have been deduced. These are in agreement with measurements made at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and indicate that there is no latitude effect. A vertical temperature gradient of some 6° K./km. is suggested by the observatioKeywords
