Abstract
The modulated subcarrier technique of attenuation measurement offers an accurate and convenient means of calibrating rotary vane attenuators. The technique also presents the possibility of being extended to other types of attenuation measurement. This paper gives an analysis of the output of the microwave detector, assuming it is completely linear; an error analysis of the technique; and a comparison of the technique with the 30-Mc IF substitution technique of attenuation measurement. Keywords
