Abstract
Ferroelectric domain structure of TGS at various stage of polarization reversal was examined by the carbon decoration method. The growing domains take the shape of cylinder extend right through the crystal along the b-axis. The area of lenticular cross-section increases in proportion to the time. Therefore the polarization reversal process of TGS is substantially one-dimensional, though geometrically two-dimensional. The shape of switching transient by rectangular pulse field was calculated for simple one-, two- and three-dimensional models of polarization reversal. The shape of experimental transient comes under the case of one-dimensional in accordance with the domain examination.
