Abstract
During the severe winter 1978-1979, large numbers of mute swans died; 2111 were collected for autopsy. The causes of death and Pb poisoning were recorded. Liver and sternum from all ringed swans (184) were analyzed for Pb; 1/3 were Pb contaminated. The load of Pb in the livers was not related to age. A positive correlation was found between age and Pb content in sternum. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
