Abstract
Escherichia coli 26-43 (thiazole-requiring mutant) did not respond to S-containing amino-acids or thiazolidine-4-carboxylic-acid. a-Amino-B-(4-methylthiazol-5-yl)propionic-acid may be the possible precursor of thiazole. Investigations to decide the immediate biochemical lesion of this mutant were not successful. Keywords
