Bone Lesions in Early Syphilis: Report of Case

Abstract
4-6 wks. after infection with syphilis, a 22 yr. old [male] developed bone lesions of the skull and generalized lymphadenopathy. Histologic examination of curettings from a bone lesion revealed a granu-lomatous process. An inguinal lymph node contained a granulomatous lesion and abundant spirochetes morphologically typical of Treponema pallidum. Regression of the lesions occurred promptly after 2 courses of penicillin therapy.
