Abstract
Tested animals with different types of eyes, to determine the latter's association with visual acuity. One dog, one monkey, and 2 chicks were required to distinguish between striae. Two test-fields with horizontal striae were used, along with the photometer-box described by Yerkes and Watson (1911). Punishment and reward were used as motives. The visual acuity of the monkey compared favorably with that of humans under similar circumstances. The visual acuity of the chick appeared to be not over one-fourth that of the monkey. However, no definite positive results were obtained from the dog. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)Keywords
