Abstract
Extensive haemorrhage which could be prevented by vitamin K, or by bacterial contamination of the animals, has been reported in germ-free rats fed purified diets by Gustafsson (1959a; 1959b). As far as we are aware a similar vitamin K deficiency has not previously been reported in rats of limited microflora ('SPF').Keywords
