Abstract
Considerations in applying ac motors with solid-state adjustable -frequency controllers are discussed, and guidelines. are offered where possible. As a background, three commonly used at drive techniques are reviewed. Test data are provided for 100-hp standard and energy-efficient designs operated on each of the three types of drives.Keywords
