Abstract
Zwickel and Lance developed a method for estimating the age of juvenile blue grouse (Dendragapus obscurus) based on the molt and development of primary feathers. Measurements of young chicks often give earlier estimates of hatch dates by this method than those of older chicks. An estimate of this bias was made based on wild-caught blue grouse from Vanconver Island, British Columbia, Canada. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
