Coprophagy as an Economic Feeding Tactic in Blackfly Larvae

Abstract
Filter-feeding is a strategy which allows blackfly larvae to capture and ingest a wide range of particle sizes and types. The utilization of coprophagy is a tactic within the overall feeding strategy which will increase the efficiency of particle capture and may be important in the nutrition of larvae at high population densities.This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
