Abstract
The nesting habits and larval food of wasps of the tribe Cercerini (Cerceris and Eucerceris) are discussed. The potential value of the wasp tribe as a partial biological control of injurious species of beetles is noted. A list of the presently known species of beetles used as food for wasp larvae is given. This list includes many important economic pests. The following families of beetles are used as prey by the wasps: Curculionidae, Buprestidae, Chrysomelidae, Tenebrionidae, and Bruchidae. The species of beetles used as prey by most of the species of Cercerini are still unknown. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
