Abstract
The method of analysis of the French Regulation School, especially the work of Lipietz, is presented and critically discussed as a potential contribution to a much-needed Marnan class analysis of contemporary capitalism. Particular attention is paid to the concepts of Regulation theory, especially the accumulation/regulation model, and to the internal tensions that emerge from the attempt to transpose a theory of national regulation to the world economy. Keywords
