Abstract
Mutual diffusion coefficients for pairs of gases composed of polar and polyatomic molecules have been estimated from the experimental viscosities of binary mixtures. The derived diffusion coefficients fall within the scatter of the directly measured experimental diffusion coefficients. These results are consistent with the formal kinetic theory of polyatomic gas mixtures developed by Mason and Monchick where they have taken into consideration inelastic molecular collisions. Keywords
