Abstract
The activity of the reactions of acid phosphatase in the liver and kidneys of rats with transplanted Guerin epithelioma showed increased activity for 4 to 5 weeks after the initial implantation. This was followed by a period of decreased activity of phosphatase which was related to lysosomes in these organs. Increased acid phosphatase activity was noted in the adrenal glands and this persisted throughout the disease process. In the lungs, pancreas and spleen, there were no alterations from normal. The cytoplasm of the cells of the Guerin epithelioma also showed increased activity which was believed to be related to intracellular digestion of tumor tissue. Keywords
