Abstract
Contrary to what some seem to believe, the Journal is neither Harvard-owned nor Harvard-dominated. Nevertheless, it is Harvard-surrounded, for the Journal's editorial office occupies as a paying tenant much of the top floor of Harvard's Countway Library building. From his desk, indeed, the Journal editor can look down directly — in a strictly physical sense, of course — on the office of Harvard Medical School's dean.
