The Impact of Post-Occupancy Evaluation Research

Abstract
A comprehensive post-occupancy evaluation of subsidized housing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is described. The study was unique because it was initiated and financed by the city agencies responsible for the planning, regulation, and administration of public housing programs. One of the most important findings of the study was the importance of territorial definition and site security. This issue is used to illustrate the type of information the study generated and the impact it has had on the housing system in Albuquerque.
