THE TAXONOMY OF THE NEARCTIC SPECIES OFPEDIOBIUS(HYMENOPTERA: EULOPHIDAE), ESPECIALLY CANADIAN AND ALASKAN FORMS

Abstract
Thirty-two species ofPediobius(Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) are reviewed, 9 newly noted from both Europe and North America. New Nearctic species includeP. adelphae,disparis,geshnae,liocephalatus,louisianae,magniclavatus,ni,ocellatus,pseudotsugatae, andstrobilicola. Pediobius rugosithorax(Cwfd.) andkansensis(Grlt.) are newly noted as junior synonyms ofacantha(Wlk.);lithocolletidis(Ashm.) ofalbipes(Prov.);longfellowi(Grlt), ofalcaeus(Wlk.);wilderi(How.) ofbrachycerus(Thoms.); (Asecodes)P. albitarsis(Ashm.),tarsalis(Ashm.), andashmeadi(Cwfd.) ofcrassicornis(Thoms.);utahensis(Cwfd.),longus(Grlt.), andperdubius(Grlt.) ofeubius(Wlk.); (Entedon)P. albitarsis(Ashm.) andsexdentatus(Grlt.) offacialis(Giraud);splendens(C. & D.) offoliorum(Geoffr.);glabrataBlck. ofphyllotretae(Ril.).Pediobius termerus(Wlk.) is recorded for the first time in Nearctic.
