Abstract
This study concerns the variations of the coefficients of kinetic electronic emission and ionic reflection of a Mo target bombarded by He+ and Ar+ ions during the formation of a hydrogen, oxygen or potassium monoatomic layer. First, the time necessary for the building up of a monoatomic layer is determined; the electronic emission and ionic reflection is then studied, as a function of time, with incident ions of various energies. Finally, the variations of the electronic emission are explained by the changes in work function caused by adsorption. Keywords
